The novel “modified sawhorse waveform” is an unprecedented electroanalytical approach developed by the Sombers Lab. It combines multiple voltammetric scan rates with a brief period of amperometry in each sweep to provide sensitivity, selectivity, and reproducibility when monitoring the real-time molecular dynamics of tyrosine containing peptides, like met-enkephalin, in live tissue (Schmidt et al., 2014).
